The hotel is new and staff was extremely friendly. a gentleman name Vernon maybe? was working and was able to get us an early check in for my daughter's dance recital- which was SO EXTREMELY helpful. His kindness and friendlinesss really made my day. I would come back again just to deal with him again. Thank you! The location was excellent as it was right across from port theathre where we were dancing. The happy hour pricing was excellent and affordable.

Nanaimo was a little city that is spread far apart, but everything you need is 10mins away
The homelessness issue rears its head all around Nanaimo but not as aparant as Vancouver!
A lot of OLD buildings with a lot of CLOSED but there is a bunch of construction, so I am wondering if the city will soon rebuild?

Nanaimo is a cool little city.
Nanaimo is a cool little city. Depending on the goal of your trip renting a vehicle is recommended, since the city is spread out. As well there is much to see in surrounding areas. With the ocean, mountains and forest this community is surrounded by nature and beauty!

We had a great dinner at Firehouse Grill and fantastic coffee at Regards Coffee and the walk along the waterfront was nice but nothing super special, in all honesty it's kind of a dreary, quiet place that isn't very pretty. Maybe it has way more to offer than what meets the eye but I truly wouldn't care to stay there for more than a night passing through.

There was a couple of RATS outside by the pool but they stayed away from people. The hot tub wasn’t working either. But the pool was GLORIOUS and the room was clean to perfection. It was a nice place to sleep in!

I didn't see much of Nanaimo, just Petraglyph Park, before heading to Victoria. This side of Nanaimo was quiet, and I left very early. One great thing about South Nanaimo is its proximity to the Duke Point Ferry - a short drive. Also, the lack of nightlife meant my visit was quiet.
I would recommend visiting Petraglyph Park. It's not easy to find it, you have to be driving on the northbound side, but it's beautiful. I've enjoyed other aspects of Nanaimo in the past, especially the Woodgrove area, and I've found people there very friendly.

Lots of parking available in Nanaimo downtown, ( dont park on yellow band or else you get ticket) and walk around harbor and see sea plane takes off and landing. lots of trails to explore. you can catch fish on the shore.
Great location, in a safer part of town. Very close to the ferry, pretty clean and great value for the money. Keycode entry makes checking in and out a breeze
Recently renovated and it shows! Without knowing what's on the other side of your door(the roadway), you could think you're in a 4 star hotel!
We will definitely choose this motel for our next stay in Nanaimo!
right downtown it is our regular point to stop while on transit on or off Vancouver Island. there is a vibrant restaurant scene, art and a water front walk all there. the hotel itself has choice of fine dining, a bar. there is nothing outstanding about it, but the view from some of the rooms, but it is handy, reliably clean and friendly. good value for the cost.
The property was right by the lake, pet friendly. Rooms were clean. Breakfast was included, but “to go” due to current health restrictions. Rentals for kayaks, pedal boat and paddle board were reasonable. There were two grills available near the dock for barbecues which guests can use free of charge.
I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Spot Hotel, and I must say, the experience was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment I stepped into the lobby, I was greeted with warmth and professionalism by the staff members who went above and beyond to make my stay memorable.
The room has a kitchenet. It was spacious enough and the bed was comfortable. The location was far from Nanaimo downtown (25 mins drive approx) but walmart, Save On Foods etc. were on a 5 mins drive and Real Canadian Store was just across the street.
Overall, a nice place to stay.
The breakfast was the best I had in my 6 weeks travelling in Canada. The room is very quiet to the back garden with chicken. Anthea is a very friendly host, who tried to help me with everything. The rooms are very nicely decorated. Nanaimo is in a short walking distance.
I liked that they had such clean rooms and friendly staff. the breakfast nook has amazing food and is conveniently located at the hotel. The place itself is located perfectly near downtown Nanaimo and away enough from it to not be so busy.
The house was new with a huge terrace and an amazing ocean view. The hosts Shawn and Lili tried their best to make us feel welcomed and Indeed we felt like home.Thank you Shawn and Lili.If anytime soon in Nanaimo you are the first choice.
I love this hotel! Love the location and the staff is always the best! Thank you to all of you for excellent customer service. Also the restaurant is always consistent in providing excellent breakfast options. Thank you!
I loved everything about it! I was surprised how comfy the beds were! I had just stayed at high end hotel which the beds weren't comfy. Ill be coming back for sure with my family when I visit Nanaimo!
Sid from reseption was most helpful with our special requests. The room was clean and spacious with good harbour view. The Noch restaurant located in the hotel was very good - we had dinner there.
Very welcoming with a cute welcome book for the area, clean and probably one of the comfiest bed I've slept in! Nanaimo is a small town and this was an easy drive to everything.
