Berlin has a lot for everyone. History and monuments, nightlife and restaurants, strolls and picnics - whichever mode of passing your time you prefer, they have it there. Getting about is a breeze using the city's maginificent public transport and you'll feel safe virtually wherever you go. Besides, while traversing the city, you'll unwittingly learn a thing or two about its rich and often painful history. That's an added value.

Berlin retains a small city charm as it is broken up into very distinct districts. There are at least two of everything given it's East/West past history Even has 3 opera houses. Plenty of green parks and a public transport system that is second to none. The 7 day pass for S/Bahn, U/Bahn, buses and trams worked out at under 6 Euros per day. Staying at the Lutzowplatz Radisson we had direct access to Unter Den Linden and the Kurfurstendamm plus taxi rank outside the hotel for the trip to the main station with heavy luggage. Good traditional German restaurants are still plentiful whereas in many other German cities they are being replaced with pizzeria. More museums and art galleries than any mere mortal can visit in a month.JohnUnited Kingdom
